About

Yaru Water has a mission and purpose that makes it much more than just water.

More Than Water. Yaru is a Social Enterprise. Telling an Important Story.

Yaru is a social enterprise that tells an important cultural story, whilst creating better health outcomes for Indigenous communities via the Yaru Foundation. Through sales of Yaru Water and vital donations, we are able to establish projects that lead to health improvements, cultural awareness, and sustainable outcomes.

Yaru is Australia’s first Indigenous water company and was established in 2011 through a partnership between the Martin family and Bundjalung descendants of Northern NSW. Since Yaru began, we have been proudly Supply Nation Certified.

Yaru is a proud leader and change-maker. Our ambition is to inspire the procurement landscape and encourage similar business models that create positive social change, and bring indigenous culture to the forefront of Australia.

Want to know more about the Yaru Foundation and our purpose?

“Our ancestors drank this living water, and today we are sharing this precious source for life, health, and abundance to all who thirst. For thousands of years we as indigenous people have understood the power and energy of what flows from this land. We want to share that understanding and connection. That’s the heart of what Yaru is all about”

~ Kyle Slabb, Budjalung Nation, Original Co-Founder of Yaru Water
