NBA Star Patty Mills Partners With Yaru

Yaru is delighted to announce a partnership with legendary Australian Olympian and NBA star Patty Mills.

Patty has just completed his Australian tour to launch and promote his new series of kids books entitled ‘Game Day’.

Patty is hoping to raise $10,000 for the Yaru Foundation via sales from his first book of the series.

Patty said of his book launch;

“I really see the importance of the younger generation and understanding that there’s a lot more to life than just sport. [With] sport, you learn a lot of values and lessons and discipline, things to be able to live in this world, but for me it was important to try and connect with these kids at a deeper level. It’s a fun book series, an enjoyable read but there’s also many hidden lessons and values that hopefully kids can relate to and can connect with, that they can use for their journey.”

“I’m also excited that we have an opportunity to partner with the not for profit Yaru Foundation, where we’re hoping to raise up to $10,000 via proceeds from the sales of Game Day! – Patty Hits The Court. We’ll donate $1 per book up to our target, which will go towards helping implement much needed projects in Indigenous communities”.

The book series is set to entertain young readers, inspire kids to achieve their goals through sport, and showcase Patty’s pride in his Indigenous heritage.

Tessa Martin of Yaru Water said;

“We can’t thank Patty enough for his support of the Yaru Foundation. The Foundation aims to close the health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Our projects help to create better health outcomes for communities where there is an identified area of need.  Patty’s commitment to Indigenous communities in Australia is something that we should all be very proud of.”
